Captain Antoni Selin's
Holster Pistol
Circa 1777
One of our most important
finds in our Revolutionary War research into the service of Antoni
Selin in America's fight for freedom has been this flintlock dragoon
side arm. The photographs have been graciously provided by it's
owner and decendent of Captain Selin, Nick Thompson whom we are
greatly indebted to for the opportunity of being able to post
these historical photographs.

Due
to considerable amount of wear in the muzzle it is difficult to
ascertain what the caliber was of it's smoothbore. It now measures
15 /16 " across the muzzle. We have not had an opportunity
to get a micrometric measurement from further down the bore. Additional
measurements are as follows: overall length 15"
barrel length is slightly less than 9"
